It’s been a while.

Like, a really long while.

I’m not going to waste anyone’s time with details, excuses, or dramatic re-enactments explaining my disappearance. Aint nobody got time for that. This isn’t an episode of Snapped.

And, luckily for y’all…

My undying love – for all things television – has NOT been compromised.

not. even. a. little.

In fact – during my unexplained absence – my love affair with TV has grown even stronger.

With the newest viewing options; from cable and networks providing ondemand capabilities – to Smart TV’s and RoKu apps, such as: Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime?

I’ve inevitably developed a sixth-sense.

For real, people.

I’ve been given a gift. Finding the most awesome television shows, ever.

Some people read fortunes, see the dead, or communicate with the other side. Other people provide stock options, develop retirement plans, or figure out super fancy shit with money. Some people learn. Some people teach. Some people have degrees. And some people just flip burgers or mop floors.

I am not any of those people.

I’m just a television junkie. Committed to all things TV since 1974.

And I am here to give you the inside info.

  1. I’ll let you know when something is worthy of binge-watching. And I’ll give you the reasons why.
  1. I’ll let you know when something is NOT worthy of binge-watching. And I’ll give you those reasons why.

Because I’m nice like that.

On the other hand?

I am NOT going to research facts, or spend hours perusing IMBD, or spend one second looking up Rotten Tomato or other notable Critic Scores. I am NOT going to read reviews before, during, or after – watching any show, on any venue, ever.

This is just an unbiased and un-researched television junkie’s blog.

That. Is. All.

Brew some coffee, or pour yourself a cocktail, and let’s watch worthy TV, together, again!

Hope y’all enjoy my recommendations, as much as I enjoy watching these shows.

* PS: Suggestions are ALWAYS welcome, usually on my Facebook account. Except for anything SyFy and/or History. NO. Because, BORING. Denied.
FYI: I favor crime/suspense/murder/mystery – on any & all venues. And then I will lean on: Comedy, HGTV, IDTV, BRAVOTV, or even Reality TV, when desperate.

Curb Your Enthusiasm! [What?]

Hell! Yes!

And Hello!

Curb Your Enthusiasm is back for a ‘surprise‘ season, airing TONIGHT on HBO @ 9/8Cpm!

Seriously, there are very few shows that make me laugh out loud to the point where tears literally fall from my eyes. Moreover, there are very few shows that I can watch repeatedly and laugh JUST AS HARD as I did the first time I saw them. This show, just happens to be the kind of show!

Since Curb Your Enthusiasm has been off the air for sometime, I have found myself watching the series on HBO on-demand. And even though I can practically recite each episode word for word, I will STILL laugh [out loud].

But, I do have my reservations about this new season.

For one thing, Cheryl Hines [the actress who played Larry David’s wife up until now] will not be on the show as his wife. Cheryl left him during the last season. [For totally justifiable reasons.] This season, she will make cameo appearances as his ex. Which of course, will make things uncomfortable for Larry. [And that is promising.]

While Cheryl may not have been ‘The Best’ at improvisational comedy, she did create a identifiable persona that was valuable during the previous seasons. Therein lies my concern. I don’t know if the show will be the same without her?

Don’t get me wrong, I am a FAN of Vivica A Fox [who will be playing Larry’s new “Love Interest” as Loretta]. But…I don’t know how believable, or funny, or how well received she will be in this particular role. Only Time Will Tell!

About The Show:

CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM stars ‘Seinfeld’ co-creator Larry David as himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his life. Shot in a verite style and featuring celebrities playing themselves, the episodes are improvised by the actors from an outline created by David. The series also stars Cheryl Hines as David’s wife Cheryl, Jeff Garlin as David’s manager Jeff and Susie Essman as Jeff’s wife Susie.

The seventh season finds Larry continuing to cope with the aftermath of his separation from Cheryl, even as his life remains intertwined with Loretta Black (Vivica A. Fox) and her family.

CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM was nominated for four Emmys® in 2008, including Outstanding Comedy Series. It won the Golden Globe in the Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy category in 2002. In 2003, Robert B. Weide won a directing Emmys® for his work on the series. The series has also received awards from the Writers Guild of America, Directors Guild of America, Banff Television Festival, American Film Institute and Monte Carlo Television Festival, among others.

Transplanted New Zealanders Jemaine and Bret live in New York City’s Lower East Side and split their time between seeking venues where they can perform and awkwardly courting women. Sometimes finding it easier to express themselves with music, they’re apt to break into song at a moment’s notice.

Starring the New Zealand music-comedy duo of Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, the second season of HBO’s Emmy®-nominated comedy series “Flight of the Conchords” starts Sunday, January 18th at 10p.m. (ET/PT).

So Many Choices Tonight

‘Gossip Girl ‘ (8PM, The CW)
Poor Dan Humphrey … guess he hasn’t read the ‘Gossip Girl’ books, because if he had, he’d know that the new rich kid on the block is one Aaron Rose, destined to be the next boy toy on the arm of one Serena van der Woodsen.  Of course, in the books, Dan is also bisexual, so the TV series will probably never be 100 percent faithful to the book series, but it is true that Aaron (‘Stick It’ star John Patrick Amedori) is Serena’s new Dan. Meanwhile, Humphrey kid Jenny makes a new friend in the rebellious Agnes, who convinces Little J that she needs to make a bold move with her fashion career, lest Blair’s mom squash it before it even begins.

[Yes I Like This Show.]

‘Heroes’ (9PM, NBC)
Good guy gone bad (Suresh), baddie (Sylar) with a chance to do good and save his bro (Peter) and a major catfight throwdown (Claire and the returning Elle) … there’s a little something for everyone. Trapped and terrified, Nathan and Tracy (Adrian Pasdar, Ali Larter) fight for their lives against a much-changed, monstrous Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) to free themselves and the doctor’s other test subjects. Elle (guest star Kristin Bell) returns with a surprise for Claire (Hayden Panettiere) and her family, and Angela (Cristine Rose) tries to persuade Sylar (Zachary Quinto) to save Peter (Milo Ventimiglia).

[Im So OVER This Show.]

‘One Tree Hill’ (9PM, The CW)
Lucas’ cheesy prose not only makes his second novel a hit, but a big Hollywood so-and-so wants to option it for a movie. Only on The CW, kids, only on The CW.

‘My Own Worst Enemy’ 10PM, NBC

Edward treks off to Mexico to get info on Russian weaponry, but gets double-crossed. So what happens when a guy with dual personalities is double-crossed? We dunno, but it sounds like math might be involved.

[And we generally try to avoid math of any sort.]

‘Boston Legal’ 10PM, ABC
Murderous Catherine Piper (Betty White) returns to get help from Crane, Poole & Schmidt because, this time, she blew up her doctor. In her defense, she only meant to burn his office down; exploding him was a miscalculation. Elsewhere, Alan and Denny hit a dude ranch.

[[[HELL YES!!]]]

Chuck 8:00 PM, NBC

A life in espionage starts to take its toll on Chuck (Zachary Levi) who’s forced to try and explain his unusual behavior to Ellie (Sarah Lancaster) and the Buy More efficiency expert (guest star Tony Hale), but a new assignment only complicates things. Then, a global terrorist comes looking for Jeff (Scott Krinsky), and Chuck has to socialize with him in order to find out what role he plays in the mission.

[I love Chuck.]

The Big Bang Theory 8:00 PM, CBS

He got the brains; she got the looks. Sheldon’s (Jim Parsons) twin sister, Missy (guest star Courtney Henggeler), is in town, and it’s lust at first sight for Leonard, Howard and Raj (Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar). Sheldon puts an end to their competition for her attention by telling them he’ll decide whom she dates. A confidence drug helps Raj talk to Missy and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) but wears off at the worst possible time.

[Either way?]

NFL Football 8:30 PM, ESPN

Look who’s in first place in the AFC South. For once, it’s Peyton Manning looking up at a rival, in this case Kerry Collins and the Tennessee Titans, who could enter tonight’s game in Nashville against the Colts a perfect 6-0. Last year these two teams split their season series, and it was Collins, in relief of an injured Vince Young, who engineered a second-half comeback versus Indy in Week 17 to get Tennessee into the playoffs.

[No Thank You.]

Primal Fear 9:00 PM, HIST

This two-hour documentary looks into what drives our fears and how they strike terror in an individual. Each fear — drowning; vermin; being buried, eaten or burned alive; the unknown — will be explored by looking at its history, the science behind it and a contemporary experience. Call us crazy, but don’t all of those things seem worthy of fear? You know what’s really scary? People who don’t find that stuff scary.

[Too scared to watch that.]

My Own Worst Enemy 10:00 PM, NBC

Edward (Christian Slater) is ordered to Mexico to get schematics for Russia’s next-generation nuclear bomb and finds himself double-crossed. Henry (Slater) agrees to meet with an inquiring FBI agent after discovering Edward inadvertently put his daughter Ruthy (Bella Thorne) in danger. Tom’s (Mike O’Malley) wife, Mary Grady (Missy Yager), becomes suspicious of his many business trips and hires a private investigator.

[Too bad its up against Boston Legal]

CSI: Miami 10:00 PM, CBS

Too bad Emmy has ignored this series — at least where the acting is concerned — because Emily Procter deserves a shot at a statue. That’s evident in this episode, in which her character, Calleigh Duquesne, is almost hit by a car. She shoots at the vehicle, and it crashes into a store, where a woman is found dead. From Calleigh’s guilt at possibly having caused the death to her relief at learning the truth — the woman was murdered — Procter’s acting is spot-on.

[I only like CSI-VEGAS]
