LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Brittany Murphy died on Sunday morning, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office has confirmed to Access Hollywood. She was 32. According to the Coroner’s Office, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Hollywood reported to them that an individual named Brittany Murphy died in the hospital on Sunday. A Cedars-Sinai spokesperson also confirmed to Access that the star was pronounced dead at their facility at 10:04 AM. A Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman told Access that they responded to a 911 call made from the 1800 block of N. Rising Glen Road — the same street where the actress lives — at 8 AM on Sunday.

A rep for the actress also confirmed the news, telling Access Hollywood, “In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy.” However, the star’s family later issued a statement of their own.

“The sudden loss of our beloved Brittany is a terrible tragedy,” they stated to Access. “She was our daughter, our wife, our love and a shining star. We ask you to respect our privacy at this time.”

The LAPD confirmed to Access on Sunday that they have opened an investigation into the star’s death. LA County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told Access at a press conference on Sunday evening that her death appeared to be from natural causes. Just weeks ago, a smiling Brittany spoke with Access at the Tt Collection Pop-Up Party in LA on December 3, where she discussed her hopes for the coming year.

“As far as having a New Year’s resolution, I’d love to have a child next year,” she said at the time. “But that’s kind of a large one!”

The actress also spoke of her love for her family, whom she said she was very close to.

“I’ve been very blessed to have a really great loving husband,” she said. “I spend more time with my family than anyone else in the world”

Brittany rose to fame after a memorable role in 1995’s “Clueless.” She went on to star in such films as “8 Mile,” “Just Married,” “Girl, Interrupted,” “Sin City” and “Riding In Cars With Boys,” among others.

She also made a splash in the music world with the track “Faster Kill Pussycat,” with Paul Oakenfold in 2006 – the track topped the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart that year. She also sang a pair of songs for the animated film “Happy Feet,” in which she was also a voice actress.

Brittany was married to screenwriter Simon Monjack, whom she wed in May 2007.

“The Jeff Dunham Show ” is a new half-hour comedy-reality show from Levity Entertainment starring ventriloquist-comedian Jeff Dunham. The series features Dunham and his hilarious cast of characters to perform in front of a live studio audience as well as interact on location with real people.

“The Jeff Dunham Show” builds upon the breakout success of Dunham’s COMEDY CENTRAL stand-up specials, the most recent of which, “Jeff Dunham’s Very Special Christmas Special “, was the most-watched telecast in COMEDY CENTRAL history with 6.6 million viewers.

The debut episode features Walter and Dunham visiting a licensed psychologist to save their relationship only to learn that he specializes in gay couples, Bubba J drinking beer and shooting guns at a real rifle range and Achmed the Dead Terrorist promoting his own comedy DVD, “I Kill You I Kill Me.” Also in the debut episode, Peanut wants a “hot friggin’ famous” Hollywood girlfriend and asks Jeff’s publicist to fix him up with guest star Brooke Hogan. However, their date goes awry when Peanut gets all choked up over some guacamole and chips. Future episodes include Achmed attempting to become a US citizen by joining the Marines (but cannot do a push-up to save his life), Peanut developing a new energy drink and Walter visiting a local tech shop to learn about the latest technology – only to end up insulting the entire staff.

Launching in early October, The Jeff Dunham Show website will feature deleted and extended scenes from the show, an exclusive webisode series previewing sketches from the show and special downloadable cut-out masks of four of Dunham’s characters. Additionally, fans of the series can play “The Jeff Dunham Show: The Game,” allowing them to set off with his wild cast of characters on an adventure to rebuild each other and make it to the show on time. There will also be a Facebook Personality Quiz, “Which Jeff Dunham Character are You?,” where fans can find out if they’re more of a Peanut or if they’re channeling their inner Walter, and then share the results with their friends.

New York, NY, October 6, 2009 – TV Land has landed the primetime broadcast rights for the Emmy® Award-winning comedy, “Everybody Loves Raymond,” from CBS Television Distribution beginning June 2010, it was announced today by Larry W. Jones, president, TV Land.

The winner of 15 Emmy® Awards, “Everybody Loves Raymond” ran in primetime for nine seasons, totaling 212 episodes and will premiere in TV Land PRIME , the network’s primetime programming block designed to appeal to the attitudes, life stage and interests of people in their 40s. Additionally, the network announced three other new acquisitions to hit the airwaves in 2010: “Boston Legal,” “Home Improvement” and “The Nanny.”

“‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ is one of TV’s quintessential comedies, and we are thrilled to have the Barones join the TV Land family,” stated Jones. “‘Raymond,’ ‘Boston Legal,’ ‘Home Improvement’ and ‘The Nanny’ all speak to our audience of forty-somethings in different ways. “Everybody Loves Raymond” (Premieres second quarter 2010):

“Everybody Loves Raymond” was born out of Ray Romano’s own life experiences of raising his children along with his wife, all while his parents and brother lived close by. In the show, Romano plays Ray Barone, father of three and a sports writer for a local newspaper. Patricia Heaton plays his wife, Debra, who endures her husband’s overbearing parents played brilliantly by Doris Roberts and the late Peter Boyle. As in real life, Ray’s brother Robert, played by Brad Garrett, is a policeman who lives with his parents. And in a quirky, life-imitating art moment, the Barone children – Ally and twin brothers Michael and Geoffrey – were actually played by real life siblings, Madylin, Sawyer and Sullivan Sweeten. The eight seasons were filled with hilarious appearances by guest stars including Kevin James, Fred Willard, Georgia Engel and Chris Elliott.

TV Land paid its own special tribute to “Everybody Loves Raymond” in 2005, when the series wrapped its ninth and final season. TV Land pre-empted its regularly scheduled programming to honor the occasion by filling a room with guys named Raymond, each representing an episode in the series run. Each Ray introduced himself and named an episode all while TV Land continued to remind the viewers not to accidentally miss the series finale which was a truly historic television moment.

“Boston Legal” (Premieres first quarter 2010):

“Boston Legal” spent five years on broadcast television, bringing viewers fast-paced and irreverent comedy, yet at the same time providing intense and emotionally-driven plot lines. The cast included many celebrated talents including James Spader, William Shatner, Candice Bergen and John Laroquette and was created by the famed David E. Kelly. The show was nominated for numerous awards with both Spader and Shatner winning Emmys for their stellar performances. A spin-off of “The Practice,” “Boston Legal” follows the professional and personal adventures of a group of attorneys at the law firm of Crane, Poole & Schmidt. The series ran on ABC from 2004 – 2008.

“Home Improvement” (Premieres first quarter 2010):

Tim Allen starred in “Home Improvement” as Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor, an accident-prone television host and devoted family man. The series, which followed the trials and tribulations of family life, also starred Patricia Richardson as Tim’s wife and Zachary Ty Bryan, Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Taran Noah Smith as his three energetic and sometimes mischievous sons. Richard Karn played Tim’s best friend and co-host of “Tool Time” and Earl Hindman was Wilson, the eccentric voice of reason and the Taylors’ neighbor whose face – as a running gag – was always concealed mostly behind the fence separating their yards. The series also launched the television career of Pamela Anderson who played the “Tool Time Girl” for two seasons and then by Debbe Dunning who replaced Anderson. In addition to garnering several awards, the popularity of “Home Improvement” in the 90s made the series finale the fourth highest-rated comedy series finale of the decade behind “Cheers,” “The Cosby Show” and “Seinfeld.”

“The Nanny” (Premieres third quarter 2010):

Fran Drescher helmed this beloved ‘90s sitcom as Fran Fine, a bubbly and nasal-voiced Queens native who becomes the nanny to three children of an upper-class Manhattanite. Fran’s nurturing style included out of the ordinary techniques coupled with a tell-it-like-it-is attitude which made the children – and eventually her boss – fall in love with her. Fran Drescher was nominated twice for an Emmy and the show received countless awards. “The Nanny” ran on CBS from 1993-1999.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Heder stars as Drex Greene, a regular recent college grad who finds himself undergoing an inexplicable transformation that begins when he wakes up at the bottom of a water-filled bathtub.  Drex’s roommate Matt, who has been eagerly filming his demise, informs him that he’s easily (and inhumanly) been underwater for more than a half-hour.  As he starts to develop zombie-like tendencies, Drex finds it increasingly difficult to focus on his new job and his love life, so he enlists the help of two friends, Cassie and Matt, to help him uncover the truth about the peculiar changes he is experiencing.  In the process, Drex meets his match – an exotic beauty named Aurora – who may hold the answers to Drex’s many questions.  Drex must decipher whether he really IS a zombie, like Matt is convinced he is, or whether he’s something entirely different.

Josh Gad stars as Matt, Drex’s roommate who is determined to profit from his friend’s changes and Krysten Ritter stars as Cassie, a beautiful young med student whose curiosity fuels a powerful interest in Drex’s new condition.  Jean Smart stars as Meryl, Drex’s mother, and Wayne Knight appears as Andy Batten, Drex’s nosy co-worker, who is determined to create trouble in Drex’s career.

A Brand New Show Called COMMUNITY will air tonight at 930/830pm on NBC!

I have been anticipating the premiere of this show ever since I saw the first commercial. I am a huge fan of Joel McHale [host of The Soup on the E! Channel] and who doesn’t love Chevy Chase! C’mon now!

About The Show:

You might ask yourself, “What I can expect from Greendale Community College?” And to that, we say “What can’t you expect?” We pride ourselves on giving you, the community college student, more than you expect. We give you what you deserve.

The cast line up is superb with super star Chevy Chase (as Pierce) and actors Daniel Pudi (Abed), Gillian Jacobs (Britta), John Oliver (Duncan), Donald Glover (Troy), and Yvette Nicole Brown (Shirley). Joel McHale plays Jeff, a lawyer whose degree was found to be fraudulent and is forced to go to Community college to get a real degree. From what little I’ve seen in the commercials, the role appears to suit him perfectly. He brings his own overly confident sarcastic wit to the character which Soup fans [such as myself] will love. And I am betting new viewers will be won over by his softer side as we see the character struggle with how his life is progressing. The pilot see’s the group come together to study Spanish in a very Breakfast Club like fashion as they start to learn more about each other and themselves.
