You may have heard recently about Stephen Colbert rallying his fans in support of America’s Speed Skating team. In short, the team experienced a $300,000 budget shortfall and Stephen called upon his fan base, the Colbert Nation, to help him in an effort to raise the money and send the team to Vancouver. He succeeded and is now at the Winter Games covering the events all month long!

Comedy Central is releasing web exclusives on a daily basis and the new episodes, starting next week, feature footage of Stephen at the Olympics, with some shows even being taped in Vancouver!

“Tosh.0″ features the razor sharp humor and biting commentary from comedian Daniel Tosh and delves into all aspects of the Internet from the absolutely absurd to the incredibly ingenious in this weekly, topical series. In addition, the series features viral clips of the week and original videos created by and starring well-known actors and comedians.

Each episode features the segment “Web Redemption”, which gives subjects of infamous viral videos (i.e. Nintendo 64 Kid and Crying Giants Fan) a second chance to redeem themselves from the embarrassment with which they’ve become synonymous.

This month COMEDY CENTRAL is standing up for comedy and giving it a month-long salute! “Stand-Up Month” is back and the only all-comedy channel is giving viewers Network and World Television Premiere stand-up specials every weekend starting January 10, including specials from Chris Rock,  Aziz Ansari , Artie Lange , Arj Barker and Larry the Cable Guy.

Also on tap during COMEDY CENTRAL’s “Stand-Up Month” celebration is a brand-new stand-up series starring “The Daily Show’s” John Oliver and the ever-popular “Stand-Up Showdown,” a marathon countdown of the top 20 comics as voted by viewers.

Getting the laughs starts on Friday, January 8 at 11:00 p.m with Emmy® Award-winning writer and “Daily Show” correspondent John Oliver in the series premiere of “John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show.” Watch Oliver loosen his stiff upper lip and ditch the suit as he hosts a new stand-up show featuring material from some of his favorite comedians, including Paul F. Tompkins , Janeane Garofalo , Brian Posehn , Kristen Schaal and Eugene Mirman .

COMEDY CENTRAL’s weekly stand-up specials kick off on Sunday, January 10 at 9:00 p.m. with “Chris Rock: Kill the Messenger.” In his hilarious Network Television Premiere special, Rock travels the globe to bring his comedy to fans everywhere. Artie Lange returns as raw as ever in the World Television Premiere of “Artie Lange: Jack and Coke,” debuting Saturday, January 23 at 11:00 p.m. Filmed in the famed Gotham Comedy Club in New York City, listen as Lange talks about his competition with Heath Ledger, justifications for child abuse and the opening monologue he’d do if he were ever asked to host the Oscars.

Also premiering on Saturday, January 23 is the World Television debut of “Arj Barker: LYAO.” All the cool kids know that LYAO is Web-speak for “Laugh Your Ass Off” and that’s just what viewers will do while watching Barker’s new stand-up special. Tune in at midnight for an hour of hilarious new material from this “Last Comic Standing” semi-finalist and “Flight of the Conchords” star.

It’s not much of an election year, but that doesn’t mean viewers can’t vote…for stand-up! All January long, viewers can vote for their favorite comics online and by mobile phone to decide the 2010 “Stand-Up Showdown” champion! Starting at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 31, COMEDY CENTRAL will count down the top twenty comedians as chosen by viewers at www.jokes.com . The winning comedian will be crowned at end of the night.

To close out the month, prepare for the largest comedy show ever recorded!
