quarterlife

dylan.jpg

From the creators of “My So-Called Life,” and “thirtysomething” quarterlife is ‘sort of’ a New Show premiering on NBC Tonight @10pm. (This show will air regularly on Sunday nights at 9pm.)

I say ‘sort of a new show’ because it has been running on MySpace & You Tube for awhile. Alas, the series has finally been picked up by network television.

About the show:

“The first network-quality series that was produced first for the Internet. quarterlife tells the ongoing stories of six creative people in their twenties. Starting with Dylan, a young woman whose overly truthful video blog spills the closest secrets of her friends unbeknownst to them.”

I am definitely going to check this one out. I am very interested in seeing how this show plays out on television. Lord knows we can all use something NEW to watch.

At least the writer strike ended in time for one of my FAVORITE things on Television. Tonight @ 8pm on ABC . The Oscars.

I love this event, not just for the actual Oscars, but, the Red Carpet on the E channel before the event, and the fashion police celebrity bashing that occurs the next day.

What was YOUR favorite movie this last year? Was it even nominated? Who are you hoping walks away with the trophy?

American Idol – Season 7- Top 12 Girls

after-american-idol-its-time-for-vietnam-idol_14.jpg

Okay Okay…My Bad. I missed the first 45 minuets of American Idol last night. But from what I hear I didn’t miss too much. I am very disappointed that I didn’t get he chance to see one girl in particular, so I am counting on YOU to tell me what she was like. Anywho. I did watch the rest of the show.

Here are My Picks For The Top 12 Girls:

Amanda Overmyer:
Age: 23 Hometown: Mulberry, IN

amanda.jpg

She is the one I missed last night. I loved her in the auditions and during Hollywood week. So tell me people…How did she do?

Amy Davis

Age: 25 Hometown: Lowell, IN

amy.jpg

This was when I tuned into the show. And, Um. Yeah. How about Go Home. She was the WORST singer of the night. By far. Ugh. Pretty Girl. But cannott hold a note to save her life. Buh-Bye.

Brooke White
Age: 24 Hometown: Mesa, AZ

brooke.jpg

Another one I don’t like. I am not sure why, but there is something about her that seriously irritates me. She seems OFF, I think she is out of touch with reality.

Alexandrea Lushington
Age: 17 Hometown: Douglasville, GA

alexandrea.jpg

Now. She was good. But not great. Simon was the only voice of reason when critiquing her singing. I just didn’t get it. I thought her notes were all over the place.

Kady Malloy
Age: 18 Hometown: Houston, TX (H-Town)

kady.jpg

I really really like her. But, I think if she would have been better off last night doing her Britney Spears impersonation. I don’t think she will win, but I don’t think she is going anywhere for awhile. Lets see what she brings to us next week.

Asia’h Epperson
Age: 19 Hometown: Joplin, MO

asiah.jpg

I AM A HUGE FAN. I am probably biased since she sang two songs from two of my favorite artists of all times: In Hollywood she ROCKED a Mary J Blidge song and last nights Janis Joplin jam. This girl got to me, and good!

Ramiele Malubay
Age: 20 Hometown: Miramar, FL

ramiele.jpg

I see her sticking around for a long time. I really liked her performance. She didn’t over do it, or under do it. She was fun, sung well, and I am always partial to the ‘tiny girls with huge voices’ since I am one of them.

Syeshe Mercado
Age: 21 Hometown: Sarasota, FL

syesha.jpg

Anyone who can sing the way she sang in Hollywood (with no voice) is a true singer. I think she is extreamly talented, but, she doesn’t ALWAYS have to belt out every single note. She can take it down a notch from time to time. However, I am a FAN.

Finally we have,

Carly Smithson
Age: 24 Hometown: San Diego, CA

carly.jpg

As the ‘IT GIRL’ for the season I have to agree with Simon. I was expecting much more out of her last night, but she really does have a strong solid voice. Maybe it was just that song I didn’t like, but I was not overwhelmed by her last night.

As for the other ones, I either missed their performance, or, I have already forgotten about them. So, fill me in!!

American Idol – Season 7 – Top 12 Guys

american-idol-poster.jpg

I love American Idol. I have been a fan since Season One. I love to watch undiscovered talent and dreams come true. But now is when the season really kicks in for me. I bring to you My Picks for the Top 12 Guys.

I really liked David Cook

Age: 25 Hometown: Blue Springs, MO

david_c.jpg
But I am not a fan of his hair, and there is something about his look I just don’t like. I think he will be on the show for a while.

Then there was Robbie Carrico
Age: 26 Hometown: Melbourne, FL

robbie.jpg
He’s a rocker, he’s kinda cute, but looks a little too much like Bret Michaels for my tastes. However, we may be looking at a finalist?

My FAVORITE of the night was David Archuleta
Age: 17 Hometown: Murray, UT

david_a.jpg

Oh my god. How cute is he? I can’t stand it. He has a light that shines through him. I really really want him to win, or at least walk away 2nd runner up.

Then we have this very good looking guy Jason Castro
Age: 20 Hometown: Rockwall, TX

jason_c.jpg
(look at his eyes!) *swooning* If only he was just a little older…

My other favorite is the Aussie HOTTIE, Michael Johns
Age: 29 Hometown: Buckhead, GA

michael.jpg

Ladies, he is not just a beautiful man, he can really sing, quite well. Yum. Me. (I hope he lasts all season just so I can drool over him).

*Of course there are contestants I can’t wait to get kicked off. Like these two:

Garrett Haley
Age: 17 Hometown: Elida, OH

garret.jpg
He isn’t a bad dood, he’s just too Leif Garret for me and he is not a strong singer.

But the one I really want OFF THE SHOW (like by Thursday…) is this cat.

Danny Noriega
Age: 18 Hometown: Azusa, CA

danny.jpg

Now he is one cocky, arrogant, bratty, ungreatful kid that has no redeeming qualities. He might be able to hold a note (for a minuet) but his attitude is such a turn-off, I can’t with him.

Lastly, there was the Ellen Degeneres look a like:

Colton Berry
Age: 18 Hometown: Staunton, VA

colton.jpg
Need I say more?

The others as far as I am concerned were “forgettable.”

DEXTER (Season Two)

dexter.jpg

I am only HALFWAY through FINISHED WATCHING watching Season Two of the famed hit series DEXTER on Showtime. And it was even better than Season One. But, I seriously think that show changed me…as a person. I feel different. I am certainly ALTERED. Maybe watching the whole season in one sitting is all too much to handle mentally?

I don’t think I will get ANY sleep tonight. Or ever again.

I am thrilled my mother (who is also a HUGE FAN ) broke down and ordered SHOWTIME, just so we can watch this again. On Demand. wheeeeee.

Thanks Mom.
