The Closer

Oh Hell Yes. One of my all time FAVORITE shows, The Closer, is premiering TONIGHT at 9pm on TNT.

Congratulations to The Closer cast for their most recent SAG Awards nominations: Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series: Kyra Sedgwick. She absolutely deserves it.

Golden Globe winner, Kyra Sedgwick (married to Kevin Bacon) is friggin phenomenal in this dramatic series. She plays the role of Deputy Chief Brenda Johnson, an investigator and interrogator with a remarkable talent for trapping criminals in their lies.

Brenda Johnson is a brilliant woman that knows just how to use her ‘flaws’ to her advantage. Her clumsiness, at times total awkwardness, lead the other members of her police team (and the guilty parties) into thinking there was no way she could ever be able to solve, crack, and bust into the criminals the way she does. Topped off with a charming southern accent and the trademarked “Thank You” she ends most conversations with and you have a delectable combination.  I would hate to be on the receiving end of one of her interrogations. Who knows what kind of secrets I have, that she would be able to pull out into the light!

I am on the edge of my seat waiting to see her GET MARRIED!!

Trust Me

Eric McCormack ( Will & Grace ) and Tom Cavanagh ( Ed & Scrubs) return to series television in TNT’s TRUST ME , a sharp, witty drama series that centers on two best friends working as creative partners at a top-ranked Chicago ad agency.

I think I am excited about this show. TNT has been pumping out new hits as of late, with Leverage as one of my new favorite shows.

About Trust Me:

Set against the backdrop of the high-pressure world of advertising, TRUST ME focuses on Mason (McCormack) and Conner (Cavanagh), a pair of ad men whose strong creative partnership has served the firm of Rothman Greene & Mohr extremely well over the years. Mason, an art director, is a responsible, workaholic family man with a beautiful wife, Erin (Clarke), two children and an undying loyalty to the brands he helps sell. By contrast, his writing partner, Conner (Cavanagh), is a single, impulsive copywriter with the attention span of a teenager.  Their yin-yang relationship is put to the test when Mason is named a creative director of the agency, making him Conner’s boss. The series follows the changing dynamics between the two friends, who are better together than they are apart.

Yep. I am going to watch the premiere tonight and write a snappy review for ya’ll afterwards!

Burn Notice

The All New Season Of BURN NOTICE Starts TONIGHT at 10pm on USA.

*Is anyone else looking forward to this as much as I am?*

About The Show:

A sexy, action-packed original series starring Jeffrey Donovan as Michael Westen, a blacklisted spy. Dumped in his hometown of Miami without money or resources, Michael struggles to put his life back together and find out why he’s been burned. In the meantime, he uses his unique skills and training to help people in need … mostly people who can’t get help from the police.

Lie To Me

A new television series premiering tonight: Wednesday January 21st on FOX@9pm

From writer Samuel Baum “The Evidence” and the executive producers of “24” and “Arrested Development” (only the best show ever) comes LIE TO ME. A drama series inspired by a real-life specialist who can read clues embedded in the human face, body, and voice to expose the truth in criminal investigations.

When you scratch your chin, wring your hands, wrinkle your nose, or swallow too much, DR. CAL LIGHTMAN (Tim Roth: “The Incredible Hulk” and “Reservoir Dogs”) knows you’re lying. He doesn’t just think so, he knows so, because he’s taken his exceptional skills of observation to become the foremost deception expert in the country. Being a human lie detector, Cal can uncover the deepest secrets and crack the hardest cases. More accurate than any polygraph test, he knows when those in front of him are being less than forthcoming, be they family, friends, or complete strangers.

Cal heads up a private agency contracted by the FBI, local police, law firms, corporations, and private individuals when they hit roadblocks in their searches for the truth.

LIE TO ME probes how people can deceive themselves just as easily as they deceive others, and explores the idea that there’s nothing more revealing than when we choose to tell the truth and when we decide to lie.

Well, I certainly loved Tim Roth as ‘Mr. Orange’ in the movie Reservoir Dogs. Therefore, I have deemed this show worthy of my time to at least check it out. I also really like the premise. I wish I had super powers of this nature. Would you love to be able to KNOW for SURE is someone is telling The Truth? As the mother of a teenager, I can usually tell when my son is lying to me. But sometimes, he is all too convincing. I have occasionally fallen victim to his tall tales. I plan on doing a follow up ‘Review’ after the premiere! Stay Tuned!

Okay. Um.

I have never watched this show.

*Hangs Head In Shame*

But, I know a lot of you who do LOVE this show. So tell me people. Is it too late for me to try and get into it? I mean tonight at 8pm on ABC is the premiere of a Brand New Season. Or, will I be ‘LOST’ trying to figure out what’s happening?

From what I can gather, the show is about: An Oceanic Air flight 815 tore apart in mid-air and crashed on a Pacific island, its survivors were forced to find inner strength they never knew they had in order to survive. But they discovered that the island holds many secrets, including a mysterious smoke monster, polar bears, a strange French woman and another group of island residents known as “The Others.”

The survivors have also found signs of those who came to the island before them, including a 19th century sailing ship called The Black Rock, the remains of an ancient statue, as well as bunkers belonging to the Dharma Initiative – a group of scientific researchers who inhabited the island in the recent past.

As the second part of Season Three opens, Jack seems to have gained the upper hand, as Ben’s life literally rests in his hands. His demands are simple — release Kate and Sawyer as prisoners of “The Others,” let them safely return to the island and he’ll stay behind. But does Jack have a hidden agenda? Kate finally made her romantic decision between Jack and Sawyer by choosing the smitten con man — but were her feelings for him genuine? Juliet — one of “The Others” — makes a shocking decision that could endanger her standing with her people. After the death of Eko, Locke’s obsession to uncover the secrets of the island leads Sayid to believe that his intentions may not be in the best interests of his fellow survivors. Sun and Jin will continue to celebrate their pregnancy — but is the child really Jin’s?

Just as Charlie returns into the good graces of Claire and her baby, Aaron, Desmond drops a bombshell on him that could change the course of his life forever. After the hatch imploded and the electromagnetic charge was expelled, questions arise as to what effects it had on the island — as well as the outside world. Will Penny Widmore find the island and her long, lost love, Desmond, and can the survivors find a way to interact with the outside world?

So. Do I need to know anything else before tuning in tonight? C’mon people. Share your LOST wisdom with me in the comments!

American Idol Returns

Television’s No. 1 show, American Idol, returns for its eighth season when it premieres TONIGHT.  Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, the hit series empowers viewers to discover America’s next solo singing superstar by voting for their favorites to win the coveted American Idol title.  And I am psyched about it.

I simply cannot wait to see what sort of train-wrecks appear on tonight’s TWO HOUR season premiere. I just might have to blog it live. You will be able to see my updates and immediate responses on TWITTER. Please feel free to join in!

Only G-d (And the censors at FOX) already know what kind of blog fodder, or ‘gems of wisdom’ that will come out of Paula’s Mouth.

Samantha Who?

I . Love. This. Show.

I. Can. Not. Wait. For. The. Return.

Samantha When?

Monday January 12th @ 9:30pm on ABC

In case you don’t know – About The Show:

“How would you like to rewind your life, erase all the mistakes and cringe-worthy moments and start over with a clean slate? It’s a common fantasy. But for Samantha Newly (played by Christina Applegate), the fantasy is far too real. After a hit-and-run car accident puts her into an eight-day coma, she wakes up with retrograde amnesia. She can function in the world, but she can’t remember a single fact about her own life!”

I have always been a fan of Christina Applegate. She has wowed me since back in the day of her rebel teenage years when starring as Kelly Bundy on Married With Children. And with a co-star like, Jean Smart as her mother, who refuses to give Sam any accurate facts about the past she is trying to remember, you cannot go wrong. Pairing up two female situation comedy divas together….Good call ABC.

If you could start over, would you do things differently? Could you do them differently? Can people change? Or are we just… who we are? Please let me know in the comments!

PS: Check out a sneak peek over of the premier over here.
