The Real Housewives Of New Jersey [Season Two]

Screen shot 2010-06-09 at 10.34.55 PM

The Real Housewives Of New Jersey on the BRAVO Network, Monday’s at 10pm!

Okay people, I am willing to admit that I am absolutely fascinated and possibly even ADDICTED to this show. Seriously.

When the show premiered last year I was hesitant about tuning in. But then, one lazy Sunday afternoon, with no where to go, and nothing to do, I ended up watching every episode ‘Marathon Style’. And, I was hooked instantly. I never wanted Season One to come to an end!

I was thrilled when I found out the show would be coming back for another Season. As such, I have been following very closely. In fact I find myself on the edge of my seat with every new episode!

Anyway, of course, like any other show, I have come to LOVE and HATE some of the cast. Let me break that down for you now.

Teresa Giudice

picture-23

Teresa Giudice is a true Jersey girl born and raised. Her parents emigrated from Italy and raised both Teresa and her brother Giuseppe in an Italian Catholic home. She grew up in Paterson, New Jersey, where she met her husband, Joe. The couple played house together as children and now after being married for more than eight years, they are in the process of building their own massive dream home. Joe, an entrepreneur, owns several successful businesses throughout New Jersey and Teresa spends most of her time raising their three beautiful daughters Gia, Gabriella, and Milania. She manages each of the girls’ busy schedules, shuffling them from dance, gymnastics, acting, voice, and guitar lessons — and Teresa herself teaches them all how to be “fabulous.” Before becoming a housewife, Teresa earned a degree in Fashion Marketing and Management from Berkeley College. She worked in the fashion industry in New York and hopes to one-day return to the fashion world, but is focused for now on raising her children. She’s also involved in community service, and serves as a committee member for Project Ladybug, a foundation created by Dina Manzo. Teresa is proud to be from the Garden State and happy to live and raise her kids there. She has a beach house on the Jersey Shore and loves to entertain her family and friends while enjoying all that life has to offer.

* She is my absolute FAVORITE of all the ladies. Teresa spends money like it’s nothing, she is the ultimate girly girl, her accessories, shoes, jewelery and lip-glosses crack me up. And she is pretty damn good with her three girls. I could never handle even ONE girl, let alone four of them! Although, she does tend to spoil them to no end. But, she has it like that, so she can! Teresa is simply adorable, with her big hair and once tiny boobies [which she recently had enhanced]. Seriously, she is someone I would want to hang out with, or meet for lunch!

Jacqueline Laurita

picture-33

Jacqueline Laurita is a former cosmetologist in Las Vegas turned full-time stay-at-home New Jersey mom. Her husband Chris, brother of Caroline and Dina Manzo, owns several wholesale apparel businesses and the couple has been together for more than 13 years. They have a six-year old son, CJ, and Jacqueline has a teenage daughter, Ashley, from a previous marriage. Being a young mother to a teenage daughter has its challenges, but Jacqueline is extremely close with her children. Her family is her main priority, her husband is her best friend, and she is hoping to expand on the family in the near future. Jacqueline and her sisters-in-law enjoy spending time together and can often be found shopping at the latest boutiques or getting their hair done for a night out. Aside from spending time with family, Jacqueline enjoys cooking, working out, and going to the spa. She likes to pamper herself with regular facials, manicures and pedicures. She believes in taking care of herself and doesn’t plan on just growing old gracefully. Always looking for a good laugh, Jacqueline tries to see the humor in everything and is often referred to as the peacemaker between her friends. Although she lives a lavish lifestyle, Jacqueline considers herself to be very down to earth and knows that she is blessed.

* Jacqueline, is the most ‘wholesome’ of the bunch. Yes, she is naive and sheltered, but she has the biggest heart. I get the sense she is easily taken advantage of by some of her friends. [Namely, one of the other cast members, whom I loathe! But I digress.] I like Jacqueline a lot. She does right by her family and she is down to earth. She doesn’t brag or act all sorts of flashy when it comes to the kind of money she has. It broke my heart to hear about her four miscarriages. And I have been inspired by her strength.

Dina Manzo

picture-12

Dina Manzo is a family woman, a business owner, and the founder of the charitable organization Project Ladybug. She balances a career as an interior designer and owner of a successful event planning company with being a loving wife to her husband Tommy and mother to her teenage daughter, Alexia. Dina is best friends with her sister, Caroline, and both of their husbands work together running one of New Jersey’s premiere catering facilities, The Brownstone. She calls her husband the love of her life and they have been happily married for more than four years. Dina is extremely passionate about her foundation, Project Ladybug, and is dedicated to giving back to children with cancer. Her goal is to one day open “Ladybug Houses” so that these children and their families have somewhere safe and comfortable to call home while receiving treatment.

Dina, is kind of annoying. Or least least that’s what I thought LAST SEASON. She seemed cold and distant, except when it came to her daughter. However, this year – I have truly come to respect the fact that Dina makes her family a priority, not to mention that she is a beautiful woman with fabulous hair.  She has no problem telling it like it is, and she is a shark of a business woman. I wish I had half of her energy. I truly admire all she is doing for sick children. Please check out Project Ladybug.

Caroline Manzo

picture-71

Caroline Manzo The epitome of a strong New Jersey woman, Caroline is a devoted wife and mother of three, who always puts her family first while making time for her career. Married for more than 25 years, her husband Albert runs a very successful catering facility, The Brownstone. The business has been with the family for over 30 years and is one of the premiere event spaces in New Jersey. Caroline tries to instill the value of both book smarts and street smarts in her children. Her oldest son, Albie, is studying to be a lawyer and her son Christopher is a young entrepreneur, while her daughter Lauren is dedicated to helping the family business. Although Caroline spends the majority of her time with her family, she is also the owner of two successful businesses, Opus Properties, a real estate firm and 4 My Mom, a children’s accessories line. In addition, she serves on the board of her sister, Dina’s foundation, Project Ladybug and is affiliated with The Carolyn Gable Expect A Miracle Foundation, which helps single mothers. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family on the Jersey Shore, where she has been vacationing for years. Often described as a feisty spitfire, Caroline manages to have it all — family, friends and a career.

* Caroline is the mother hen of all the ladies. She is in your face and brutally honest. If I was ever in a fight with someone I would totally want Caroline on my side! She is the ultimate ‘protector’ and proves family comes first in every episode. And besides all of her awesomeness, she shaves her face like I do. And anyone who admits to that ON TELEVISION is alright in my book!

Danielle Staub
picture-61
Danielle Staub is a tough cookie, and she knows it. “You either love me or you love to hate me, there is no in between.” She prides herself on being one of the first women in New Jersey (and 14th person in the country) to have a Black American Express Card and her history of celebrity hook-ups is one for the record books. Known for being brutally honest, Danielle enjoys pushing people’s buttons and doesn’t apologize for it. This newly single mother puts her family first and is constantly on-the-go with her two active daughters, Christine and Jillian. Danielle involves herself in every aspect of her daughters’ lives, whether going to their recitals or attending track meets; she does everything with her girls, whom she considers her best friends. An active member of her local parish, Danielle attends mass regularly and engages her daughters in religious education and community involvement through the parish. While her family takes precedence, Danielle never misses an opportunity to hit the social scene and makes sure to go out and have a good time. Appearance is also paramount to her — she takes a lot of pride in taking care of herself and loves to self indulge by lying out in the sun or the occasional massage.

* Danielle is a LUNATIC. Period. I’m not even kidding or exaggerating. In the bio it states that she puts family first. What a crock of shit. She can only put HERSELF first. Everything has to be about HER, All. The. Time. Danielle drives me nuts with her constant self created drama and the way she tries to drag everyone into it makes me sick to my stomach.  Obviously, she is my LEAST favorite. In fact, I loathe her. Danielle is super manipulative and she wraps people around her slimy fingers. She is a con-artist and plays the victim as if nothing is ever her fault, when in reality, its ALWAYS her fault. Oh, and another thing that irritates me about this woman is the way she thinks she is so hot. Danielle is obsessed with her looks, which by the way, are NOT all that great. I think her boob job looks awful and there is something about her actual skin that is ‘off’. Maybe its old age, maybe its from her excessive tanning, but she looks like leather. And, the shape of her body is weird. Danielle almost has a boy body. She has no hips and her legs are creepy skinny. She does not have any curves and she appears to have a love handle roll, right above her ass. In any event, I can NOT stand this woman.

So tell me people.
Are you watching this show?
And if so…who is your ‘Favorite’ OR ‘Least Favorite’ character and why?

Obsessed…

A&E’s 2009 Emmy Award-winner for Outstanding Reality Program “Intervention” and critically lauded Obsessedreturn for all-new seasons with back-to-back premieres on Monday, June 28 at 9:00 PM ET/PT and 10:00PM ET/PT.

Click HERE for a teaser trailer for Season 2!

The second season of “Obsessed,” will feature some of the most compelling stories to date including: a father of two whose overwhelming obsession with odd numbers has left him jobless, living out of his car and unable to function on odd numbered days; a father and his two grown daughters who suffer from agoraphobia and who are all attempting to break the family “curse” which prevents them from being able to venture more than a few miles from the safety of their homes; a musician whose life is completely consumed by hand motion rituals that can take up to 10 hours to complete; a recovered alcoholic whose fear of contamination is so extreme that he washes his hands up to 150 times a day and lives in fear that another alcoholic will contaminate him and cause him to return to drinking; and a young budding artist who believes that her checking, tapping and counting rituals are currently keeping her mother from dying of cancer.

“Obsessed” takes viewers inside the minds and lives of Americans whose anxiety has taken complete command of their existence. Individuals whose loved ones have witnessed the disorder take them prisoner, living at the mercy of their uncontrollable thoughts and ritualistic behaviors. From OCD, to agoraphobia and germophobia, these disorders trigger from an emotionally traumatic event and eventually snowball until the individual is a shadow of their former self. The series documents both their afflictions and their courageous attempts to defeat and overcome them. Highly trained therapists use desensitatization and exposure therapy, whereby the patients are increasingly exposed to what causes their anxiety until the feelings begin to fade. Viewers will be moved as patients heal, make amazing progress and slowly but surely, take their lives back.

“Obsessed” is produced by Tijuana Entertainment for A&E Network. Troy Searer, John Foy and Rob LaPlante are executive producers. A&E executive producers are Robert Sharenow, Scott Lonker and Jordana Hochman.

“Curb Your Enthusiasm” Premiered on Basic Cable for First Time Ever on
Wednesday, June 2 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT

LOS ANGELES (March 22, 2010) – TV Guide Network today announced that it has teamed-up with Larry David (Co-Creator, “Seinfeld”), renowned creator and star of the highly acclaimed HBO comedy series “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” to launch exclusive, never-before-seen extras that will air in conjunction with the series run on the network starting this summer. “Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Discussion” will be hosted by comedienne and series regular Susie Essman (Susie Greene) and will feature a panel of high profile guest stars, media pundits and prominent social figures who will debate moral implications featured in each episode. “Curb Your Enthusiasm” will make its basic cable debut on TV Guide Network on Wednesday, June 2 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Larry David said, “Finally, thanks to the TV Guide Network, I’ll get a chance to watch actual, intelligent people discuss and debate the issues addressed on ‘Curb.’ Now if only someone could tell me where this alleged “network” is, I might even watch it.

Susie Essman further commented, “Thanks to Larry, I am on a first name basis with the premium cable audience. And now with TV Guide Network’s series run of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ I’ll get to be on a first name basis with the basic cable audience, which let’s face it, is much, much bigger. My goal is to make this the best seven minute panel show on TV.”

In addition, TV Guide Network has hired acclaimed television producer Scott Carter (Executive Producer, “Real Time with Bill Maher” and “Politically Incorrect”) who will work in collaboration with Mr. David to develop and produce the extras. “Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Discussion” will air immediately following each episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and will run approximately seven to eight minutes in length each.

“We are honored and thrilled to be working with Larry David and Scott Carter to create a series of original extras that will undoubtedly engage both new and long-time fans of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’” said Diane Robina, Executive Vice President, Programming & Marketing for TV Guide Network. “Their hands-on involvement will ensure that the extras are carefully crafted and set the appropriate tone for a show as brilliant as ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm.’”

“Curb Your Enthusiasm” stars Larry David as himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his life. Self-centered, misanthropic and regularly difficult, Larry creates awkwardness and discomfort in social situations. His problems are often caused by his neuroses and obstinate faith in his understanding of ethics and etiquette. “Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Discussion” will highlight a specific moral issue or ethical situation sparked by Larry as featured in an episode of the series. An example from the show may be, if a blind friend started dating a person you found to be unattractive, should you tell your friend? A distinguished panel of guests, moderated by Susie Essman, will watch the episode and then debate the moral implication at hand.

All episodes of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” will air on TV Guide Network in their entirety as full-length episodes. TV Guide Network will preserve the integrity of the show by keeping as much original content as suitable for basic cable audiences. The episodes will be edited by HBO for standards and practices, but will not be edited for time.

Shot in a vérité style and featuring celebrities playing themselves, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is improvised by the actors from an outline created by Larry David. The series also stars Cheryl Hines as David’s wife Cheryl, Jeff Garlin as David’s manager Jeff and Susie Essman as Jeff’s wife Susie. The show was nominated for four Emmys® in 2008, including Outstanding Comedy Series. It won the Golden Globe® in the Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy category in 2002. In 2003, Robert B. Weide won a directing Emmys® for his work on the series. The series has also received awards from the Writers Guild of America, Directors Guild of America, Banff Television Festival, American Film Institute and Monte Carlo Television Festival, among others. “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is executive produced by Larry David, Jeff Garlin, Gavin Polone, Alec Berg, David Mandel, Jeff Schaffer, Tim Gibbons and Erin O’Malley.
