ABOUT THE SHOW
Breaking Bad follows protagonist Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife (Anna Gunn) and teenage son (RJ Mitte) who has cerebral palsy. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given a prognosis of two years to live. With a new sense of fearlessness, and a desire to secure his family’s financial security, White chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime, where he ascends to power. The series explores how a fatal diagnosis, such as White’s, releases a typcial man from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society and follows his transformation from mild family man to kingpin of the drug trade.
AMC’s Emmy® Award-winning drama Breaking Bad will be back with a vengeance. Created by acclaimed writer, producer, and director Vince Gilligan and produced by Sony Pictures Television, the series has been hailed as “TV’s best” (Newsday), “mesmerizing” (LA Times) and “among the very elite in television” (San Francisco Chronicle). Now, in its fourth season, danger has become a way of life for chemistry teacher-turned-drug-kingpin Walter White (Bryan Cranston), who has embraced his drug-world alter ego with chilling purpose. Even his once tranquil family life has taken a dark turn, as Walt continues to juggle his roles as fatherly provider and drug manufacturer.
Okay, I have to admit I never watched this show, until very recently. Even though I heard positively glowing reviews from nearly everyone I’ve ever spoken to regarding Breaking Bad, I wasn’t very interested in watching some science teacher, with lung cancer, turn into a Meth-Dealer. I’m not a exactly big fan of science, or cancer, or tweakers.
However, that being said, with limited choices these days, I accidentally stumbled upon the pilot episode.
I was immediately HOOKED.
And by hooked I mean I watched EVERY SINGLE EPISODE of Season One – in ONE sitting.
For – 7 hours. IN A ROW
And then I took a three hour nap, only to wake up, and watch EVERY SINGLE EPISODE of Season Two – in ONE sitting.
For – 13 hours. IN A ROW.
And then I took another three hour nap, only to wake up, and watch EVERY SINGLE EPISODE of Season Three – in ONE sitting.
For another 13 hours. IN A ROW.
Because I HAD TO KNOW what happened next.
Now, I don’t think I’ve ever said this about any others show, but the series Breaking Bad is the same high quality as DEXTER.
Maybe it’s even better.
[Seriously, people? Breaking Bad IS better than Dexter.]
And that speaks volumes.
I highly recommend any and EVERY ONE watches this show.
It’s real, it’s raw, it’s heart-wrenching, anxiety-producing, fascinatingly, BRILLIANT.
Creator, and writer, Vince Gilligan, is a flippen genius.
Bryan Cranston, who plays Walt White, has won an Emmy for each season.
I’ve never been more eager for a new season of a TV show than I am right now!
