Shameless

Frank Gallagher is the proud single dad of six smart, spirited and independent kids, who without him would be… perhaps better off. The brilliant William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum star in this wildly engaging and fearlessly twisted new Showtime Original Series. The Gallaghers may not have much in the way of money or rules, but they know who they are — and they’re absolutely, wildly, unapologetically SHAMELESS.

When Frank Gallagher’s not at the bar spending what little money the family has, he’s stirring up trouble. But he’s not the only one who keeps things interesting. Lip uses his smarts to get what he can, Ian’s exploring alternative sexuality, Debbie’s got her hand in the donation jar, Carl’s breaking every rule he can find, and toddler Liam’s just along for the ride. Good thing the family has Fiona, the eldest daughter who dutifully keeps them all together, even as she tries to figure out where and how she fits in to her own life.

*SHAMELESS premiered on SHOWTIME Sunday, January 9th at 10:00 PM ET/PT. Encores will be broadcast throughout the week and available On Demand and on Showtime Anytime™.

So, I finally got around to watching this new series, and I’ve been trying to think of best way to summarize the show without giving too much away. Let’s just say, there’s a lot of sex, there’s a lot of drinking/partying, and there were even a few scenes that totally touched my heart. I have to say, I am a HUGE FAN.

Huge.

Fan.

And not just because I’ve always admired William H. Macy, and not just because Emmy Rossum is positively brilliant.

But because it’s genuinely well-written.

You will instantly fall in love with all of the characters, you might even hate some of them sometimes. And after watching the entire season, I am TOTALLY looking forward to the Season Two debut.
