LOST

Okay. Um.

I have never watched this show.

*Hangs Head In Shame*

But, I know a lot of you who do LOVE this show. So tell me people. Is it too late for me to try and get into it? I mean tonight at 8pm on ABC is the premiere of a Brand New Season. Or, will I be ‘LOST’ trying to figure out what’s happening?

From what I can gather, the show is about: An Oceanic Air flight 815 tore apart in mid-air and crashed on a Pacific island, its survivors were forced to find inner strength they never knew they had in order to survive. But they discovered that the island holds many secrets, including a mysterious smoke monster, polar bears, a strange French woman and another group of island residents known as “The Others.”

The survivors have also found signs of those who came to the island before them, including a 19th century sailing ship called The Black Rock, the remains of an ancient statue, as well as bunkers belonging to the Dharma Initiative – a group of scientific researchers who inhabited the island in the recent past.

As the second part of Season Three opens, Jack seems to have gained the upper hand, as Ben’s life literally rests in his hands. His demands are simple — release Kate and Sawyer as prisoners of “The Others,” let them safely return to the island and he’ll stay behind. But does Jack have a hidden agenda? Kate finally made her romantic decision between Jack and Sawyer by choosing the smitten con man — but were her feelings for him genuine? Juliet — one of “The Others” — makes a shocking decision that could endanger her standing with her people. After the death of Eko, Locke’s obsession to uncover the secrets of the island leads Sayid to believe that his intentions may not be in the best interests of his fellow survivors. Sun and Jin will continue to celebrate their pregnancy — but is the child really Jin’s?

Just as Charlie returns into the good graces of Claire and her baby, Aaron, Desmond drops a bombshell on him that could change the course of his life forever. After the hatch imploded and the electromagnetic charge was expelled, questions arise as to what effects it had on the island — as well as the outside world. Will Penny Widmore find the island and her long, lost love, Desmond, and can the survivors find a way to interact with the outside world?

So. Do I need to know anything else before tuning in tonight? C’mon people. Share your LOST wisdom with me in the comments!

  1. I have actually seen the first three episodes of this season and I will say that you might have some trouble watching this season. Lost truly does depend on seeing all the past episodes. You will probably get the jist of what is going on but you will probably miss some of the references since this season has a ton of references to previous seasons. If you do decide to watch Lost tonight and are confused don’t give up on the show. I would recommend that you start watching the show from season one. In my opinion it is the best show on television and is better seen from the beginning since the show truly does rely on past episodes. If you are a fan of sci-fi dramas you will probably not be able to stop watching Lost once you begin watching it.

For Lost fans reading this comment I would like to tell all of you that the first three episodes can only be described by one word. AWESOME.

Thank you. I will ask Kathy!

    You Need Cable!

Okay. So..I suppose I will watch tonight out of sheer curiosity. And if I like that, I will go back and watch from Season One so I can really comprehend what is going on!

    THANK YOU

  3. Everything Eric said. Now — you MUST rent all the previous seasons. Do it now, in the dead of winter when there’s nothing else to do but get sucked into one of the best TV shows there is. The benefit to this is, if you’re insane like my husband and me, you can watch 4-5 shows per night and not have to wait for the next installment over a week’s time. I can almost guarantee that you will be immediately addicted.

Don’t watch it based on the above summary. You’ll not only miss details, but you’ll have missed everything that came before and IT’S GOOD STUFF!!!

  4. Oh, and for anyone who calls themselves a true fan, you must go over to http://www.lostpedia.com and read everything. Plan on visiting the site for hours at a time. It’s an unbelievable repository for every single thing ever discussed about the show. Lots and lots of things you would have never caught while watching the show alone.
