I think Lithgow will be an excellent addition to the show, considering how well he can pull of both creepy and funny. From what I’ve read, Lithgow will play a prolific serial killer named Walter Simmons, Miami’s latest serial killer and Dexter Morgan’s (Michael C. Hall) new nemesis.
Walter Simmons is described as an unassuming, mild-mannered suburbanite who has been living a dual life as one of America’s most prolific serial killers, dubbed the “Trinity Killer” because of his proclivity to kill in threes.
After being tracked by FBI special agent Frank Lundy (Keith Carradine), Simmons relocates to Miami, where Dexter is brought on to assist in the investigation and becomes fascinated with the killer’s skills.
After watching Dexter’s unsuccessful attempt to train Jimmy Smits’ Miguel Prado as a thoughtful and deliberate killer during season three, I think it will be very entertaining to watch Dexter become the student again.
I am so excited, I can’t even wait for it to hurry up and be 10 o’clock!
