Okay, so with the summer right around the corner, the number of good television shows have been reduced to slim pickings. However, it is my pleasure to announce a brand new, totally super awesome, utterly fabulous television series that aired on USA last Thursday. [Yeah, I know I am way behind in posting about this. Sorry people.]

Royal Pains, is a new original series which will broadcast every Thursday night at 10/9c on the USA Network.
And OMFG, it is fantastic.
I had to opportunity to watch the hour and a half long premiere last night and I was hooked instantly. I seriously didn’t want the show to end. If you missed the premiere, I highly suggest you check it out. You can watch it online HERE.
About the show and the premiere:
Doctor Hank Lawson (played by:Mark Feuerstein) has the perfect life, complete with a beautiful fiance and a promising job at a top New York City hospital. But it suddenly becomes a living nightmare when he chooses to save a neighborhood teen instead of a wealthy hospital patron because the teens situation was more urgent. After the patron dies, the hospital board fires Hank and threatens a lawsuit. As his professional prospects evaporate and bills start piling up, the former rising star becomes a recluse. Hank’s fiance, Nikki, soon gets fed up and leaves him for good.
Hank’s younger brother, Evan (played by: Paulo Costanzo) convinces Hank to spend Memorial Day Weekend in the Hamptons in the hopes of getting him out of his slump.
On his first night there, Evan drags Hank to an exclusive party, which they clearly haven’t been invited to, on the massive private estate of a mysterious mogul named Boris. Thanks to Evan’s ability to make even the most outrageous story sound plausible, they manage to get in. At the height of the festivities, Hank winds up saving the life of a sick girl who has been mistakenly diagnosed with a drug overdose by the presiding concierge doctor.
Word spreads throughout the East End that there’s a new on-call doctor in town and Hank suddenly finds himself responding to calls from the area’s wealthiest residents: a teenager suffering from hemophilia who has been injured in a car accident, a wealthy woman with a leaky breast implant, and a girl who suffers from an internet-induced version of hypochondria.
Also in pursuit is a savvy physician assistant, Divya (played by: Reshma Shetty) who insists that she help Hank set up shop in the Hamptons. Along the way, he meets the local hospital administrator, Jill Casey (played by: Jill Flint) whose interest in his story may be more than professional.
Realizing that he has no job prospects in New York City yet suddenly a growing clientele in the Hamptons who are willing to pay big bucks for his services, Hank decides to give this concierge doctor thing a try with Evan as his business manager and Divya as an assistant. Little do they know, they ain’t seen nothing yet.
I cannot tell you how excited I am over this new show. I am looking forward to filling my Thursday nights with this GEM of a summer series. And, Hank, is quite good looking in that ‘he’s so adorable I want to put him in my pocket and carry him around with me” kind of way. Dontcha think?
About The Characters:
Dr. Hank Lawson

Hank (Mark Feuerstein) is a handsome, smart, talented and innovative doctor in his mid-30s who thinks fast on his feet, solving even the most unexpected problems like a “Medical MacGyver.” Grounded and calm under pressure, Hank stands up for what he believes no matter the consequence.
Evan Lawson

Evan (Paulo Costanzo) is Hank’s younger brother, an accountant who loves a good time and can talk his way into (almost) anything. Since he dreams of living more lavishly than his means will allow, his motto is “Fake it until you make it.” He’s a ladies man who doesn’t really get the ladies, at least not without pretending to be somebody he’s not. But Evan is more than just a wannabe lothario: he’s a devoted younger brother, Hank’s biggest chearleader, and the perfect yin to Hank’s yang.
Divya Katdare

Divya Katdare (Reshma Shetty) is a practical, efficient, and ambitious woman in her 20s who would rather be Hank’s physician assistant than do what her family thinks is appropriate for a young woman of her socio-economic status: attend polo matches and plan charity events. She shows up at Hank’s Westhampton motel room with a resume in hand — and mobile medical equipment in her trunk, demanding that Hank hire her as his assistant.
Jill Casey

Jill (Jill Flint) is the beautiful administrator at the local Hamptons hospital. Down-to-earth but remarkably savvy, and completely unimpressed by the rich summer residents and the superficial lives they lead, Jill knows how to maneuver around local bureaucracies to get her job done. As principled as Hank, she respects him and his decision to save the life of a teen rather than the hospital patron. But Jill’s got her own uphill battle: her hospital, the only one in the Hamptons, has a terrible reputation among the wealthy, one reason the market for Concierge Doctors has grown. Still, there are plenty of “ordinary folk” in the Hamptons who need urgent medical care and Jill has made it her mission to make sure they get it.
